Local Outreach Partners
Bethany’s Local Outreach Team supports numerous ministries in the Seattle region. The ones listed here are part of our annual budget. Our Local Outreach team meets about 4-6x/year, and we love to have new people join us as we focus on things such as the ministry of reconciliation, reaching out to refugees, connecting with the Seattle Police Department, supporting homeless youth. Museum Without Walls
Museum Without Walls introduces participants of all ages to historical instances of intolerance and racism through the voices of individuals who experienced these events.
New Horizons
New Horizons partners with youth to exit street life. Since their inception in 1978 in downtown Seattle, NH has connected youth experiencing homelessness to resources they need to exit street life through basic resources and positive relationships.
Real Rent Duwamish
Real Rent calls on people who live and work in Seattle to make rent payments to the Duwamish Tribe. All funds go directly to Duwamish Tribal Services (DTS) to support the revival of Duwamish culture and the vitality of the Duwamish Tribe.
Urban Impact
Urban Impact is a Christian, multi-ethnic group, striving to break the cycle of social, material, and spiritual poverty in the Rainier Valley neighborhood. They believe communities are strengthened when families are connected, resources are generated, and local assets are celebrated.
World Relief
In community with the local Church, World Relief Seattle envisions the most vulnerable people transformed economically, socially, and spiritually. World Relief Seattle strives to be a sustainable, holistic ministry of compassion, and practical support.
King County Youth Chaplaincy
KCYC is a partnership of churches, organizations, and individuals who promote Christian chaplaincy, post-release care, and mentoring for youth incarcerated in King County, Washington. They serve youth in the Juvenile Detention Center, those who have been sent to treatment centers, group homes, long term state facilities, and also those who have been released.
Wednesday Night Dinner
Through the ministry of Wednesday Night Dinner, Bethany Presbyterian Church seeks to open doors and hearts to the Queen Anne community, to come together and enjoy both a meal and fellowship, and to encourage one another in life and faith.
Kandelia:
Seattle World School
SWS is Seattle Public Schools’ culturally and linguistically diverse school for newcomer middle and high school students. Kandelia’s mission is to remove barriers to immigrant and refugee success.
One Parish One Prisoner/
Underground Ministries
Emptying the tombs of mass incarceration together. One Parish One Prisoner equips local communities to embrace men and women as they return from prison. They are starting a resurrection movement. They open new relationships of embrace and trust between the incarcerated and the communities to which they return—for our mutual transformation and resurrection.
Unity Collective
Transforming individuals, relationships, and communities through embodied, intersectional, integrative, and holistic care. Unity Collective seeks to provide care that is holistic, relational, empathic, supportive, restorative, collaborative, spiritual, redemptive.

Presbyterian Church
(USA)
The Iranian Presbyterian Church in Berlin, in addition to providing worship opportunities in Farsi, helps Iranian refugees and immigrants begin a new life in Germany. Ryan and Alethia work with the pastor and social worker of the congregation to offer pastoral care to refugees.
Frontier Fellowship/
Tara Chase
Tara helps American Christians connect in healthy ways to God’s work among people groups where the good news of Jesus and God’s kingdom is not yet known. She shares with congregations through preaching, teaching, and travels regularly to East Africa and Asia to see God’s work firsthand.

Mending Wings
Mending Wings exists to EMPOWER Native American youth and families to WALK TOGETHER in wholeness and beauty, HONOR Creator through our cultures and lives, HEAL with the help of programs that facilitate wholeness, and SHARE with others the life- changing hope we find as followers of the Jesus way, in a culturally relevant way.
Members in Mission
Intervarsity Christian Fellowship (USA)
Intervarsity is a vibrant campus ministry that establishes and advances witnessing communities of students and faculty. Local chapters include Seattle University and the University of Washington.
Esperanza
Founded in 1937, Esperanza exists to promote healing and restoration in a place of refuge working primarily with indigenous people groups. Bethany has sent teams for over 30 years to learn from and support their community.
Mike and Katie Lucero (South Pacific)
Mike and Katie are currently involved in ministry at Wesley International School and a local orphanage, King’s Kids. Their aim is to support Christian workers, equip international students through discipleship and quality education, and serve the local community by being God’s hands and feet to “the least of these.”

Green Team
Helps keep creation care and eco-justice at the forefront of Bethany’s practice and witness through education, advocacy, collaboration with the PC(USA), and special projects.
Queen Anne Community Outreach
We are a church with an address. This team seeks to reach out to and partner with the Queen Anne Community, to be active participants in our neighborhood—paying attention to the needs, cares, concerns, challenges and opportunities right in our midst.
Racial Justice Initiatives
Ibram X. Kendi says no one can be anti-racist, we can only practice anti-racism. The same goes for institutions. Bethany is striving to practice anti-racism in all that we do…in our hiring practices, in our liturgy in worship, in our relationship with our Outreach partners, in our discipleship, in how we approach spiritual formation for our children and youth. We are all needed in this work—every single one of us. This is not just an initiative, but core to who we are.
