Interview with an Author / Kimberlee Conway Ireton

We Want YOU in Our Church Directory!
This spring, we’ll be compiling our new directory and we would love to have you in it! Be sure to get your information and picture into our church directory with these easy to follow steps:

  • Computer savvy people. Send your name/s (including children's names), address, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses via e-mail to gailn@bethanypc.org. If you have a picture to add (in .jpeg form), send that, too!
  • The Sunday alternative. Check your address against the one in our database at the table in the lobby and make any changes needed at that time. Have your digital picture taken by one of our Bethany photographers after worship services on Sundays, April 6, 13 & 20.

If you submitted a picture for the 2006 directory which you would like re-used, please let us know. The deadline for submitting information and pictures is: April 20.

A Crazy Blessing / Jessie Crosby
Many have called me crazy for wanting to work with middle school students but I know the truth; middle school students are the best! I have been blessed to work with Bethany’s Middle School Youth Group for the past six months as the intern and it has been an incredible experience...

Children's Ministries

Vacation Bible School
During the week of July 21-25 Bethany will be “transformed” into a County Fair as children will be learning about the “Fruit of the Spirit” through Bible stories, skits, music, recreation, crafts and an exciting outreach project! Don’t miss it!

Registration forms will be mailed out in late April, and Bethany children (age 3 through rising 5th grade) whose parents are helping at least 3 days on site will have first priority in our registration. We need teachers, assistants, youth helpers, recreation and early drop off leaders, nursery caregivers and more…

Want to help? Contact one of our Co-Directors: Kylie Kypreos, Laura Montagner or  Kristin Wilhite if you’d like to let them know how you’d like to help (see their contact information on the web page).

Session Notes

Bethany’s Session elders and staff met on Tuesday, March 11,
for their monthly gathering.

  1. Elder Gene Williams led a devotional prayer time centered around some of the “great hymns of the faith.”
  2. Ryan Schmid, staffperson at Urban Impact (a longtime Bethany ministry partner) came to update Session on a very exciting mixed use building project in the Rainier Valley, and ask for any people resources Bethany might suggest as volunteers.
  3. Session discussed some routine financial matters and also voted to split the 2007 surplus (approx. $4600) between ministry in Kenya and the production of a video for use in our Dynamis discipleship class.
  4. Visits with incoming New Members were described, and Session voted to receive a wonderful group of nine people into official membership.
  5. Pastor Dan spent some time teaching and leading a Bible Study on ministry centered around Jesus’ roles as “prophet, priest and king,” and a rich conversation on how to apply these to real situations followed.
  6. Dan gave a brief update on the current issues in the Presbyterian Church U.S.A.
  7. A singing of the Doxology closed the time.
